SKUEA-PRO-12G-SPWR

The Elite Audio PRO 12 Gauge Speaker Wire is a 200 ft spool of tinned 100% copper cable for high-power car audio and marine installs. Twelve gauge is the size most installers reach for on subwoofer runs and pro audio midrange arrays, where long wire and big amplifier power make every bit of resistance count. The tinned copper conductor carries current better than aluminum-based wire and resists the corrosion that slowly degrades bare copper, especially in humid, salty or wet conditions. The blue and black jacket makes polarity easy to follow on every run.

Copper vs CCA Speaker Wire

Elite Audio makes 12 gauge speaker wire in two versions, and the difference is the metal inside.

PRO 12G (this wire) PRM 12G CCA
Conductor Tinned 100% copper Copper-clad aluminum
Resistance Lower, more power reaches the speaker Higher than copper at the same gauge
Corrosion Resistance Tin coating protects every strand Aluminum core can oxidize if exposed
Best For High-power, long runs, marine and powersports Budget installs and shorter runs
Length 200 ft 200 ft

If you are wiring subwoofers on a big monoblock, running speakers to the back of a truck or SUV, or building a boat or UTV system, copper is worth the upgrade. For a quick budget install, the CCA version gets the job done for less.

Why Tinned Copper

Bare copper turns dark and green over time as it reacts with moisture and air, and that oxidation raises resistance at every connection. A thin tin coating seals each strand, so terminals stay clean and conductive for years. That is why tinned wire is the standard choice for marine, powersports and off-road builds, and a smart choice for any car that sees humidity, road salt or a pressure washer.

Where 12 Gauge Fits

  • Subwoofers: The common choice for sub wiring from a mono amplifier, especially at low impedance where current is highest.
  • Pro audio mid and high arrays: Feeds multiple midrange speakers per channel without starving them of power.
  • Long runs: Keeps losses low on trunk to front-door runs, trucks with rear-mounted amps and marine tower speakers.
  • Shops and repeat builds: A full 200 ft spool covers several installs at a lower cost per foot than short packs.

For lighter-duty speaker runs, the PRO line also comes in 14 gauge, 16 gauge and 18 gauge tinned copper.

Install Tips

  • Keep speaker wire away from the main power cable where you can to reduce the chance of picking up noise.
  • Use grommets wherever the wire passes through metal, and loom it in the engine bay or under the vehicle.
  • Finish ends with Elite Audio ferrules or quality crimp terminals so stranded wire stays tight in amp and speaker terminals.
  • Follow the blue and black jacket consistently so every speaker stays in phase.

FAQ

Is this wire copper or CCA?

The PRO series uses tinned 100% copper. If you want copper-clad aluminum at a lower price, choose the Elite Audio PRM 12G CCA speaker wire.

Is 12 gauge overkill for door speakers?

For standard door speakers, 14 or 16 gauge is usually plenty. Twelve gauge makes sense for subwoofers, high-power pro audio speakers and long runs.

Can I use it in a boat or UTV?

Yes. Tinned copper is well suited to marine and powersports use because it resists corrosion from moisture and spray.

Does the spool come in other colors or lengths?

This listing is a 200 ft spool with a blue and black jacket. Other PRO gauges come in different lengths, so check each listing for details.
