The pressed paper cone keeps the sound natural and lively, while the cloth surround gives the cone a tight, controlled feel that suits loud playback.
The 10 inch cone also moves more air than a 6.5 or 8 inch driver, so it bridges the gap between your subwoofer and tweeters with real midbass punch. If your current 8 inch midranges run out of output before the rest of the system does, this is the step up.
Will It Fit?
With only 3.78 inches of mounting depth, the AP-M101SE PRO fits many truck and full-size SUV doors, kick panels and custom pods without deep fabrication. You will need a 9.37 inch cut-out and room for the 10.22 inch outer frame. For best results, mount it so the back wave stays sealed off from the front, either in a well-sealed door or a dedicated pod. Can I use these as subwoofers?
No. With a 91.3 Hz resonance and a 90 Hz lower limit, they are built for midrange and midbass. Use a dedicated subwoofer for the low end and high-pass these at 100 Hz or above.
Do I need an amplifier?
Yes. A factory or aftermarket head unit cannot drive pro audio midranges to their potential. A dedicated amplifier near the 300W RMS rating per speaker gets the most out of them.
Do I need tweeters with these?
For a complete system, yes. The midrange covers up to 10 kHz, but a dedicated tweeter or super tweeter handles the upper range far more cleanly at high volume.
